As Advertised May 16, 2008

My wife really wanted a Clapper, to control our bedroom light. After nearly being scared off by many negitive reviews, I bought the Clapper Plus. Unlike other users, the unit has performed as advertised, with none of the "ghost" on/off probelms reported by other users. Getting the clapping rhythm right, to opperate the unit takes some practice, but the remote that came with it works well.

Not worth the money Dec 01, 2007

I have both the Clapper and the Clapper Plus. I bought mine for $29.99 from the sharper image.
What I liked: The only thing I liked about the Clapper Plus is that it comes with a remote. Very handy for when I read or watch TV at night and I just don't want to get up to turn off the lights.
What I don't like: Like the Clapper, it is sometimes too sensitive to sound and turns off and on when unwanted. I can clap on and clap off my original Clapper just fine, but the Clapper Plus has a problem with the sound activation. This becomes a real problem when I cannot find the remote. For some reason, it keeps giving me the error light (when the 2 red light blinks at the same time).
Suggestion: I recently found many wireless switches selling for as low as $15, and I think that's a better bet.

Clapper is good Oct 18, 2008
By G. Bott Very convenient little device. Love the remote. Only problem that found is it can turn on due to other loud noises besides clapping and you have to clap pretty loud to get it to work.

A handy remote - with its own remote! Dec 09, 2007

You may scoff about people being too lazy to get up and turn off the light. Some of us are pretty peppy - but not very mobile. After my car wreck, I acquired a Clapper and then a Clapper Plus. Now I can control four different devices from my bed without any struggle. The remote with the Clapper Plus is useful for people who can't clap easily because of having limited mobility or sensitive hands. (And it's helpful when the Clapper sometimes doesn't quite "hear" you, because of echoes or the TV being too loud.) To find uses for a Clapper, you don't have to be handicapped or lazy - just smart.

WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE Mar 04, 2009
By C. D. Mote My wife wanted a clapper for the bedroom, too. I gave her a CLAPPER PLUS as a gag Christmas gift. A little over 30 days later (some 6 days after the warranty expired), we clapped a bedroom lamp off...there was a pop and a flash fire out of the CLAPPER's housing. DO YOU WANT SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN YOUR HOUSE?
