A pretty good idea that needs improving Apr 05, 2012
By shoogle13 I'm sure this thing will prove indispensable very soon seeing as I live in a wetland and can't afford those fancy screenhouses and don't have a level spot big enough for one anyway. But this umbrella screen is not all that easy to set up, and if you take good care of your umbrellas like I do and close them on windy days, you have to cinch the screen around the closed umbrella or let it fall to the ground, then get it just right again with some fussing, which becomes major fussing with the 9-foot version, especially if you're short (I'm not) the next time you open the umbrella. I'm going to try clipping the edges to the umbrella with clothespins or something to speed things up. Also, the inner tube in the bottom is super cheaply made and leaked the moment I began to put water in it. I couldn't be bothered boxing the thing up and sending it back, and like I said, I have no choice. It's this or nothing. Hope to see some improvements in the future! If you don't like hassles, save your pennies for something better.
