Create a plate or mug! Have your child design a plate that will last a lifetime! PlateWorks includes everything you need to make plastic plates or mugs that are break resistant and dishwasher safe. Use our drawing pages and washable markers to make your drawing, or use almost any other art materials. You can also simply send in a favorite photo in the postage paid envelope provided, or do your entire project online using our Internet drawing and photo placement tools. Your name, date or special message can appear around the rim for no extra charge, or choose to have your art cover the entire plate. Extra plates and mugs are available. Plate Works personalized plates are superior to others because unlike ceramic, they are break resistant and can actually be used as every day dinnerware, without the art or photo coming off. Also, unlike ceramic or other plastic plates, photos can be used instead of a drawing, and extra matching items can be made from the same drawing or photo. Extra plates make the perfect personalized gift for parents and grandparents, and the special typeset wording makes them especially useful as gifts and fundraising items for clubs, teams and classes. You can even make an entire matching place setting by ordering the optional mug. Our 12-ounce plates are much heavier than similar plastic products and include an attractive raised rim style. Ceramic mugs optional. From the makers of IlluStory. Ages 3 and up. | |

Fabulous Keepsakes - Preferred over the Makit brand Oct 20, 2006
By N. Holthuis I've been having my kids create annual Christmas plates for quite a few years now. I've tried both Plateworks and Makit and Plateworks is the hands-down winner. Plateworks makes the process very easy. You can make extra copies of the "special" paper in case kids make a mistake or don't like what they've drawn (I make extra copies of the blank sheets before the kids even get started...just in case) and there is no 1/2 invisible border that they have to watch out for (making it MUCH better than the Makit Make-a-Plates). The outcome is beautiful and cleaner looking thatn the Makit plates. We've never had any mistakes or problems. Each of my children now have a number of plates, from early scribbles to today's more elaborate holiday scenes. Love it!

Repeated Mistakes in Plate Creation Nov 28, 2004
By NYC Reader I bought this product as the activity at my daughter's birthday party. The kids created their artwork and I filled out the forms, including the text to print on the plates' rims, and sent them all in myself. The company made mistakes on at least 1/2 of the plates, including my daugther's. When I returned hers, the company repeated the mistake. Then I gave up.

DURABLE !!!!! Oct 09, 2004
By Thomas Harris Jr. I bought my 3 year old a kit as a preschool project 8 years ago and he still uses the same plate everyday. The colors are still as bright and the plate is exactly the same. Just go for it and get one for your kid you'll be glad you did.

not bad Jan 10, 2005

I did a similar project many moons ago as a child, so when I saw this kit on Amazon, I was thrilled. The kit came with everything we needed for my boys to make plates for Christmas presents. They enjoyed the chance to do artwork that they knew would be "permanent". I scanned the art and ordered online, which I am sure saved me much time in order to get them back by Christmas- we got them back before the approx. 5 weeks they said it would take. Overall, I am very pleased and would (and have) recommend this to anyone with a child that is old enough to hold a marker!

PlateWorks Oct 24, 2005
By Linda C. Weddle This is really a fun project for kids. I made a plate similar to these when I was in preschool (30-something years ago) and I used it for 13 years every single night and I still have it! So when I saw this kit I had to get it for my 8-year-old stepdaugther. She loved it, and while I did not get to see the finished project, she was absolutely thrilled with it and couldn't wait to make another one. It's a great idea and a really nice keepsake for children and their parents. I am going to buy one this Christmas for my 4 year old son.
