| | Description | The GardenWatchCam is an easy-to-use 1.3 megapixel time lapse camera. Photos are stored as JPEG images for easy playback as a movie file on computer. GardenWatchCam uses a high quality lens to target your chosen gardening area, or a single bloom. GardenWatchCam is designed to take photos at predetermined time settings chosen by the user. There are 7 different time setting options. The first 6 settings are chosen by opening the camera and turning the switch to the desired time (1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours). The seventh (custom) setting is set by inserting the included 2GB USB flash drive into GardenWatchCam, which downloads Brinno software onto the drive. You then insert the USB drive into your computer and follow the directions on screen to customize any time setting at which you want to have GardenWatchCam take photos. GardenWatchCam has a lens that adjusts from 20 inches for close ups (like a flower blooming) to infinity. GardenWatchCam fastens securely into the top of a custom designed flexible mounting stake for insertion into the ground, or use any camera tripod. It "sleeps" between photos, thereby enabling remarkably long battery life. One set of 4 AA batteries (included) will last up to 6 months. Easy to set up and use, the camera flips open, a USB flash drive is inserted, time lapse setting chosen, camera switched on, closed and located. GardenWatchCam then works silently for months. Anything that moves within the field of view is perfect for GardenWatchCam. Watch your house being built, wasps, spiders or a bird building a nest. Capture the morning glory in all its glory or a clematis climbing a trellis...easy, glorious photos of your garden from first sprout to hard freeze. Every moment can be enjoyed and shared year round. Includes a Windows program for playback, or you can use any AVI video player or JPEG picture display application. | |

Gardenwatchcam Aug 23, 2010 I love this product. I have only had it a short time so I can't comment on battery life yet but 2 weeks into it and things are looking good. I use this for pre-scouting hunting spots and think this idea of time elapsed video is the way to go. I use digital cams at my feeders but cant tell where the deer are coming from but with the gardenwatch I can see the whole food plot all day. Images are great and the software (PC only) is ok and simple but I take the images from the USB key direct to my Mac and simply click play and watch the video - seems much easier to use then waiting for my PC to boot up etc... The images are crystal clear even on a rainy day. It did get some drops on the lens but they soon rolled off. Make sure you place it facing N/NW/NE so the sun doesn't ruin the image. Also I looked at the camo version of this Day 6 Plotwatcher - exact same product just camo paint job. I saved $60 by getting this camera plus $4 on some camo spray paint and painted it myself...Excellent product.Brinno GWCTLC130A 1.3MP Garden Watch Cam With Extra 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive

It works if you have any common sense May 31, 2010 Works as advertised and not very hard to figure out It takes still pictures on a preset or custom set interval. Playback through quicktime. It's a step up from a 'toy' not a professional photographic device. If you lack common sense or basic electronic skills then you may not be able to operate it. It does what it's supposed to do.

Great product! May 04, 2010 I use this camera to create timelapse of Habitat for Humanity build sites. It works very well. Just a few years ago, we were using expensive video cameras for this effect. I couldn't be happier.

Very satisfied...would buy it again! Apr 29, 2010 I purchased this camera to record the construction of my home. I am completely amazed by its high quality and simplicity of use. The user interface is ridiculously simple...it is so intuitive that you don't even have to read the included instruction manual to get started. I did a lot of research on time-lapse cameras and in my opinion, nothing comes close to this for the price. I especially like how it runs off of 4 AA batteries (which were included, by the way) so you don't have to worry about a power source. I would highly recommend this to anyone in need of a basic time-lapse camera.

Not Very Bright People Mar 03, 2010 I purchased this item thinking it might be useful in my business taking a time lapse video of a construction project.
The user manual is worthless so I called the company and I have to say they are not very bright either.
I wanted to know if the camera was Apple compatible. They said that it might be if I run parallel Windows software. It does actually work with Quicktime on mac.
I wanted to know the capacity of a memory stick (how often do I need to download). They were not very sure but believed that a 2 gb will hold 16,000 images.
I asked if the camera will work at night and if not at what level of illumination does it shut down. They felt it would still work if I had outside lights on but were not sure.
These are really basic questions that should be covered on the web site and in the user manual.
All I can say is that there is a high concentration of stupid people running this show!
