5the same but bigger  Sep 14, 2011 By Scot Bailey
I have been using the original boogie board for several months and bought this as soon as I saw it. I have had the 10.5" version for several days and have used it for several hours cumulatively. It is the same as the original but bigger. I use both of the original and 10.5" to do math problems with my son. This version gives us more room to write. We used to use "doodle pros" but the original version isn't much more expensive than those, has higher fidelity, and ironically is much studier. Anyway, my only complaint is that I pictured it being bigger (it is of course 10.5" DIAGONALLY which is much smaller than a piece of paper) and I am not sure that I would paid that much more than the original costs, if I had thought through the actual incremental area increase.

I really appreciate the other differences. Not sure if I will ever drain the battery in the original, but with this one, I won't even think about it, since I know I can replace it. The stylus holder is perfect and was really lacking on the original. You can also attach it with a cord (which I didn't realize) but the stylus holder seems good enough that I won't do that.

5Nice board as replacement for paper  Sep 10, 2011 By Thanh Q. Nguyen
This board is large but not as large as you might think. It's just a about 2 inches larger than its smaller version, yet cost almost double! The worst thing is that it also register your palm as you write so you will get marks on the board as you write. It's irritating for some but I use it mostly for my math problems so I don't care. It's better than to have stacks of paper. I hope they can solve the problem of the board registering other things beside the pen tip. But I think it will require a technological breakthrough for them to do it. Anyways, a nice board just for doodling and junk writing stuff. Expensive but in the end worth it.

1Do not waste your money.  Jan 28, 2012 By Lynne Redwood "Bead Fixer"
This product is of the lowest quality. While it seems like a cool novelty, it is a product of the utmost uselessness. A chalk board does the same basic functions, but with the ability to erase specific things, and it costs far less, for an extra two inches. My son is a physics major in college, and I was doing a long equation on this board, and made a mistake int he end, but thanks to the inability to erase, a half hour of work went down the drain.

It also is damaged incredibly easily. This boogie board got a hole in the screen from a usb plug falling onto it from only a couple feet up. No chalk board would be damaged by that.

Do NOT waste your money on this! Go buy a chalk board or a white erase board! They are high quality, erasable, durable, and you can buy colored writing utensils for it! Not looking so low tech now, is it?

1A pointless invention.  Jan 07, 2012 By Lynda
People need to understand JUST HOW pale the writing is. It's barely legible. It wouldn't even be sensible to use it for note taking since it doesn't keep and the letters are too dim and washed out looking. My 8 year old lost interest after a very short while. The picture makes the writing look much stronger than it is.
