have to improvise to make it work Mar 14, 2009
By Boomer as a pump and system in general its fine, but it comes with a great big diameter hose, WAY too big to put down the dipstick tube. I had some tubing around and happened to have the right fittings, otherwise this would be on the way back.
Instructions actually state you are to put the tube down the fill hole. I dont think whoever wrote the instructions knows that is impossible. The only way to drain oil is to take it from the pan/sump, not draw it thru the engine!?
If you're cool with buying more stuff to make this work, by all means it seems to be just fine. Otherwise, find one that definitely has the right fittings. The ad for this one is misleading, so i dont know who to believe.

Automatic Oil Change System Aug 04, 2010
By Buddy The first reviewer (Boomer) is absolutely correct. The discription of the product by Amazon is different than what is received in the package. Amazon states to drain through the dip stick tube. The package instructions state to insert tube through the oil fill hole. I've been around automotive for quite some time and consider myself a above average mechanic. I can not think of a vehicle that you can reach the oil sump through the oil fill hole. As the first reviewer stated the tubing supplied is far to large for any dip stick tube. That said it could be used on some ATV's, lawn mowers, etc. The instructions with the unit also stated to run no longer than 5 min. and let cool before restarting. My first (And last) was on a PT Cruiser I could only get about a quart and a half in 5 min. About the same in the next 5 min. run. In the third run to drain the oil it kept running but no oil was pumping. I checked the tube to make sure it was still in oil and it was so I assume the pump gave out. Keep in mind I also had to improvise using 1/4" ice maker tubing and adapters to go down the dip stick tube. I cleaned up the unit and reboxed as it was when reveived and notified Amazon of the discription problems and also noted it as being defective. Amazon authorized it to be returned. Several days later I was notified Amazon had received the unit and had refunded to my account (Less a partial $9.00) with no other reason. As the unit was defective I expected a full refund so I complained to Amazon again. Amazon agreed and said they would process the $9.00 back to my account, which they did. What irritates me is severl days later I received a e-mail stating the refund had been processed but they noted it as a "Good Will Refund" I was not looking for Good Will I was looking for the right thing to do as the unit was defective! Its unfortunate as this unit looked like one of the better systems I've seen. Possibly I got one of the very few defective units? I would hope the manufacture fixes the large tubing problem. Plus the slowness of pumping out oil I can't imagine using it on my diesel (12) quarts.

Automatic Oil Change System Jan 11, 2012

I bought this "System" a few yrs. back from a Mail Order Catalog. It is absolutely useless and a piece of Junk. The puny little motor which plugs into a Cigarette lighter socket is noisy, and incredibly weak. If you warm your oil first, even a little, the stupid little hose will collapse attempting to suck out the oil and if I remember correctly I had to "Modify" the included hose to fit down the dipstick tube. Apparently whoever "designed" this thing thought all oil changes could be done by shoving their larger hose down the "Oil Fill" opening. That's only possible on a very few older models Save your money !!!
